Our family construction business was established as Madgwick Builders Ltd in 1946 by my Grandfather Edward Madgwick (Master Builder) then run by my Father John Madgwick as the second generation of Master Carpenter for over 50 years in and around the Worthing, Goring and Ferring areas up until the late 1980's. I am extremely proud to be the third generation of professional craftsmen running the business under its new name of JJ Carpentry & Joinery since 1989 (only changed to highlight the now specialist core nature of the business) and we have traded successfully since that time.
Working mainly within a 15 mile radius of Worthing, we specialise in the manufacture of all kinds of traditional, purpose made Joinery from a well appointed workshop facility based in Brighton and offer a comprehensive site fitting service for all Joinery & Carpentry works. We also offer a Joinery and associated trade Consulting Service to professionals and individuals. We have a long history of very satisfied customers both in the private and the commercial sectors. The vast majority of our business comes from word of mouth and repeat custom, which we believe is a testament to the quality of the service and workmanship we provide. We are always happy to take on new customers and have many satisfied customers who will be delighted to offer a reference.
We pride ourselves in our professional approach. Starting from your initial enquiry, we will come and visit you to discuss your requirements. The primary purpose is to gather all the information necessary to produce a price for the works, but also for you to meet us and ask questions about our approach, our experience and other jobs we have done that may be similar.
We will then send you a specification and price for the works, detailing everything discussed during the initial meeting/s. We aim to get this to you as quickly as possible for your consideration and, if necessary, further discussion. It is at this stage that we like to remain flexible and explore different ways to achieve what you may require. We will always give a clear idea of a start-date, timescales and who will be working with you. Once we have agreed the price and the final specification we will require a deposit, which varies in amount dependant on materials and volumes being used. We will then be able to schedule a mutually convenient start date for the work to be done.
Although the vast majority of our work is undertaken within a 15 mile radius of Worthing, we are always happy to discuss different locations depending on the nature of the work you require, so please don't hesitate to contact us.
